The Bighorn UTV 300 is a push button 2WD - 4WD Side-by-Side Utility Vehicle (UTV) with a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine.  The 275cc, 4-stroke engine presents excellent power over a standard entry level 250/300 class vehicle in a light weight, full-sized ATV while the liquid cooling provides excellent wear characteristics and thusly, longevity.  The UTV-300 has a 2-speed CVT automatic transmission with Hi / Lo / Neutral / Reverse as well as shaft drive at the front and rear wheels.  Front suspension is a strut type suspension that is fully adjustable and uses MacPherson struts which in turn provides a phenomenal ride and is the same technology that is used in 95% of ATV brands on the market. Rear suspension built with a heavy duty swing arm and two coil over shocks that are also fully adjustable. Also built into the swing arm is a standard built in receiver hitch and can tow up to 1500 lbs. The Big Horn Utility Vehicle comes standard with four wheel disc brakes to provide all the stopping power you might need on the ORV trails or job site. Rack and Pinion steering making maneuvering this machine smooth and easy. A heavy duty front bumper provides protection to components and to the passengers. This UTV comes standard with a spring assist dump bed with steel walls on the inside of the bed. Other bed features include a standard rubber bed mat and four tie down hooks in each of the four corners to help secure your cargo. Payload capacity for the bed is 1000 lbs. Inside the driver and passenger area you will find several features that provide comfort to the driver and passenger. Two bucket seats with head rests with safety restraints. Conveniently located between the seats are two large drink holders and the park brake. Storage is offered in the Glove compartment and underneath the passenger seat you will find a sealed storage compartment that could be used as a cooler. For the operator, there are several switches on the dash that include a hi beam / lo beam headlight switch, on / off switch for headlights and tail lights, 2wd / 4wd flip switch, a kill engine switch, and a reverse override switch that allows you to provide full power while traveling in reverse. There is also a 12 volt electrical plug in to charge and power your electronics while out in the woods. The Digital Dash display shows the driver speed, 2wd/4wd indicator, heat gauge, mileage, hours, gear you are in, hi/lo head light indicator, and rpm. Standard Safety features include a durable but stylish roll cage with built in safety handle for passenger, seat rails on driver and passenger seat to help keep you inside the vehicle, seat belts, under body armor skid plate,

All of these features plus the Linhai name in quality means that with regular maintenance, this UTV will go for many years without the likelihood of needing major service.  If you take care of it, it should last for a very long time.

About Linhai - Yamaha - Linhai of China has been manufacturing engines for Yamaha for about 8 years now.  In the late 1990's, they worked with Yamaha to develop new products for Yamaha to build into their product models sold world wide.  Yamaha even owns a small percentage of Linhai and keeps their QC and engineering staff on site to assist Linhai in the development of it's new engines and products.  Linhai has learned a lot about product development and building quality products from their dealings with Yamaha. It is because of their abilities to develop and build quality products that they now build models for the US market.

Professional Product Review by BJ Moose -

A hard product to beat!  Linhai was first company in china to build a UTV and they built it to stand up to regular use on the trail or jobsite. You never have to worry about the quality of these utvs they are built to Yamaha standards. One major thing about the linhai utv is that it is a little smaller than most side x sides on the market and I have found that you can get it in a lot of places that you simply can't take the larger units. The low range gear is really low which makes the utv a powerful work horse. It will also turm 7500 rpms - more than any other utv we sale. I also love the brake system. There is simply a lot of stopping power. The way it handles the trails and rocks makes it one of my favorites. Watch the demo video where I rode this on the Brown Mountain ORV trails to get a good idea of what you can do with this off road utility vehicle. I really think having the front strut suspension is what makes this unit differnt and handle great the way this one does. Probably the only down side to this unit is the leg room. As long as you aren't as tall as an NBA player you should be fine. In conclusion, I would recommend the Big Horn 300 and I am very happen to be able to offer them to you.

REMEMBER - Safety 1st

Ride Safe, Ride Smart

There's only one thing better than getting ready to ride your Riders Wholesale ATV, UTV, Dirt Bike, or Scooter - and that's learning how to do it safely. We want to help you to make the right decisions about your riding. We want to help you choose the right unit for your skill level, assist you in making the right judgments when riding and determine the proper helmet and equipment that will keep you as safe as possible.

Remember: safety starts with the rider. Read your owner's manual and safety materials.

Be a Responsible Rider

Riding an ATV, motorcycle, UTV and dirt bike is an exercise in responsibility to yourself, to others, to the environment and to the sport. So remember: wear a helmet, eye protection and protective clothing whenever you ride. Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol, inspect your bike before riding & read your owner's manual. Always obey local laws, use common sense, and respect the rights of others when you ride. Make sure you have a proper license when riding on public roads, and never modify your motorcycle's exhaust system.

Unit Checklist

FOR YOUTH ATV BEGINNERS - Adjusting the Throttle Control before letting rider ride. When starting the unit up make sure that throttle control is as low as it can be tightened. The throttle control is located on the topside of the throttle on the handlebar. Loosen the nut and then tighten the screw down. Continually do this until you find the right adjustment to it's safe enough to let your child ride. You'll need to play with this to find the right speed.

Make sure the emergency brake is on before starting the unit. This is located on the left handlebar. Push the button in and clamp the brake before starting the unit up. To start the bike, the hand brake needs to be in a locked position anyway.

Make sure the rider is prepared to ride when the brake is released.

  • Tighten all bolts on wheels. Make sure wheels properly rotate.
  • Tighten all bolts on unit.
  • Make sure that handlebars, exhaust pipe, frame and other noticeable parts on bike are properly attached and bolted down.

Safety Checklist

  • Proper attire is warn.
  • Helmet
  • Goggles
  • ATV boots
  • Gloves
  • Chest protector

These items should be warn at all times during riding.

Too many times people think they're immune to wrecking so they'll hop on the bike and just go. New riders are not used to the concept of using their thumb to accelerate. This causes the rider to increase acceleration and lose concentration. To avoid this, it is imperative to teach the rider how to do the following:

  • Show how to shut off engine with red shut off button (red button on left handlebar).
  • Ease into the acceleration by slowly pushing thumb throttle forward. If throttle should stick, show how to pull throttle back into neutral state.
  • Use right thumb to flick the throttle back into neutral.
  • Show rider how to "let off thumb throttle control" when rider is out of control.
  • Show rider how to stop with left hand brake.
  • Tell rider to not get distracted with adjusting helmets, boots or anything on the unit while riding or in acceleration mode. It is imperative the rider stops to adjust anything. They need to understand that by being safe to themselves and others riding, they need to be extremely careful about what they are doing is not distracting themselves.

Conclusion

People love riding and when they are shown the proper procedures of using their ATV, Dirt Bike, side by side, Scooter or Motorcycle, it's a lot more fun and safe for everyone on the beaten path. That's the Riders Wholesale way!

LINHAI Big Horn 21 4x4 UTV January 7, 2012
Reviewer: Robert Gates from Lebanon, OR United States
Thought 9 days shipping was great over X mas Holidays across country to Oregon.
Was not expecting as much assembly, but was able to assemble by myself in a day and a half. With help I could have done it easily in about 6-7 hours. First crank and engine started and UTV has been in use for last 4 days on the farm with no problems. Hope it continues.

Linhai 300cc atv & assembly at Statesville September 27, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from blackburg, VA United States
We successfully hauled the new Linhai Machine over the Blue Ridge behind our 2.3 litre pickup. When we got it to our mountain home we discovered most of the screws and bolts holding seat belts, roof  and roll cage were only finger tight! Once we torqued them down the machine was quieter by 20 decibels! We are about to put it to work mapping the geology of the Upper Roanoke Valley as well as patrolling the borders of our WV tree farm.

When we picked it up in Statesville there were two main defects, a broken hood hinge and a missing tail light connector. We  We also requested some sort of title or an ownership document.

Nice Unit September 8, 2011
Reviewer: Mark Neubauer from Lebanon, OH United States
The UTV took two weeks to arrive after I placed the order, but I am happy with the quality of the unit. Required about 6 hours to assemble, and you will need two people for some of the steps, not the least of which is getting it out of the metal shipping frame and wood pallets!

I am impressed with the value Linhai provides for the money, and would purchase again.

Linhai 300cc UTV 4X4 September 3, 2011
Reviewer: Roger Reed from Clearwater, FL United States
This is a really cool machine and for the price you can not beat it.  My purchase experience was excellent and the Customer Service is great.  I have called a few times about misc. questions and everytime have had the opportunity when needed to speak personally with one of the companies mechanics.

Only concern was that I paid the $300.00 set up fee and I had to tighten alot of bolts that were loose prior to initially riding the UTV.
